SquareEnix 'interested in Final Fantasy VII remake'Developer SquareEnix has revealed that it remains interested in the concept of producing a remade version of the PlayStation title Final Fantasy VII.

In an interview with GameTrailers, Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that he would like to create "a more complete form of Final Fantasy VII", reports VG247.

The 1997 title was the first 3D Final Fantasy game to be released and remains one of the most popular in the series, receiving a high-budget animated movie sequel, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, in 2005.

A rendering of a scene from the game in current-generation graphics was also presented as a technical demo for the PlayStation 3 prior to the console's release.

Mr Kitase stated that he believes creating a full remake of the original game would be a "great experience", suggesting that advances in technology would allow for a more realistic rendering of the material.

He added: "I don't get tired of people asking that question, so I'll continue to answer my thoughts as long as people keep asking."
