Diary 1
Well the day finally arrived that I started my placement at Radiation Burn in Middlesbrough on Thursday.
I had been so looking forward to this that I got up at the crack of dawn to make sure I wasn’t late. I had spent the few days before feeling a mixture of excitement and apprehension at finally going to a studio and my first out of home office job in 16 years so as you can imagine it was all a bit scary. Fortunately everyone at the studio was very welcoming and had decorated my desk with animals to make me feel at home as well as showing me around town and teaching me new games.
The first two days I have spent doing some art tests to show what I can and can’t do and test my way of thinking. I didn’t do very well on them, a combination of nerves and new environment I think didn’t help as I didn’t read things properly, assumed things I really shouldn’t have, took too long to do anything and did things in a way I wouldn’t usually. Although I can appear quite confident on the outside on the inside I was shaking like a leaf.
Regardless of my lack of confidence and ability in my tests I am eager to improve and learn as much as I can while I am here and hopefully be of some use to my new team mates as I don’t want to let them down or myself.
That’s all for this week
